Privacy and data
8Does mylune upload my data to a server?+
No. mylune stores all health data on your device only. The app makes no network requests that carry your health information. Nothing is uploaded to any server, ever.
Does mylune have a server that holds my health data?+
No. mylune has no user database, no server-side health data storage, and no account linked to your health records. There is no mylune infrastructure that holds your cycle history.
Can police or courts access my mylune data?+
No. Because mylune stores nothing on any server, there is nothing to subpoena. Courts cannot compel us to hand over data we do not have. Your data is on your phone, protected by device encryption.
Does mylune use Firebase, Google Analytics, or Facebook SDK?+
No. mylune contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Adjust. We removed these entirely.
Does mylune use cookies to track me?+
The app uses no cookies at all. The website uses technically necessary cookies set by our hosting provider (Vercel) only to serve pages correctly. These do not identify you and are not used for tracking.
How is my data encrypted?+
On iOS, your data is protected by the iOS Data Protection framework, tied to your device passcode and Secure Enclave. On Android, file-based encryption and the Android Keystore protect your data. The encryption keys never leave your device.
What happens to my data if mylune shuts down?+
Nothing. Your data is on your device, not our servers. If mylune ceases to exist, your data remains where it always was - on your phone, encrypted, accessible only by you.
Can I verify that mylune keeps its privacy promise?+
Yes. The app makes no outbound network requests carrying health data, which you can verify with a network proxy tool. We welcome independent security audits and will publish results when conducted.

Legal and safety
6Is mylune safe to use in US states with abortion restrictions?+
Yes. Because mylune stores nothing on a server, there is nothing a court can subpoena from us. This is architecture, not policy. You can also enable Legal Protection Mode for additional safeguards including clinical terminology and conservative auto-deletion.
What is Legal Protection Mode?+
Legal Protection Mode is a setting designed for women in US states where reproductive health data carries legal risk. When enabled, it uses clinical terminology in all stored records and applies conservative data auto-deletion defaults.
Can my period app data be subpoenaed?+
Only if it exists on a server. If your period app stores data in the cloud, that data can be obtained via subpoena or court order. mylune stores everything on your device only - there is nothing on our infrastructure to compel us to produce.
How do I hide mylune on my phone?+
Enable Stealth Mode in Settings. The app icon changes to a calculator or utility icon. The app name changes in your recent apps list. No health-related words appear in notifications. All your data stays intact.
What is Stealth Mode?+
Stealth Mode disguises the mylune app as a calculator or utility on your home screen. It is designed for women in unsafe home situations, conservative households, or anyone who needs their health app to be invisible to others.
Is mylune compliant with India DPDP Act 2023?+
Yes, by architecture. No personal health data is collected, stored, or processed on any server, so there is no data to regulate under DPDP. Your health data never leaves your device.
